Anne Curtis covered with rashes after jellyfish sting

MANILA (UPDATED) -- Photos of actress Anne Curtis after she was stung by box jellyfishwhile taping the fantasy series "Dyesebel" emerged late Thursday.
The photos show the actress at a hospital with a large part of her body covered with red rashes.

The incident happened in Batangas on Wednesday night and Curtis was brought to hospitals in San Juan and Lipa in Batangas before she was taken to the St. Luke's Medical Center at the Bonifacio Global City, where she is now confined.

But despite her condition, Curtis seemed upbeat when she greeted her supporters via her personal Twitter account earlier Thursday.
“Morning everyone. Just read all your 'Get well soon' messages. Last night was my first time to be stung by a jellyfish, a box jellyfish. Currently in St. Luke's so they can monitor my jellyfish sting/rash & most importantly the rhythm of my heart,” she said.

  1. Exactly. EXACTLY!

Like most of the great and fearless women of our time, when encountering an unexpected and potentially dangerous situation - one that she was facing personally, no less! - Anna was heard to express the following sentiment:

“Weeeelllllllppp, I’m bout to go pluck, stomp, flip it, and ride a doodoodinger!!!”

    A doodoodinger indeed!

Who hasn’t been confronted with a situation that is so hauntingly familiar? Nonetheless, that is exactly what Anna faced that day, as have many of YOU reading this article.

Yet, no one with the slightest shred of wisdom and / or experience would debate that comparing or contrasting one’s own suffering with that of another is the epitome of folly. To do so cheapens both oneself and one’s audience. Rarely does a person receive any benefit for doing so, aside from that singular moment wherein the braggart demonstrates that they are somehow superior for having suffered more, and that their audience is correspondingly less. However, that moment is infinitely fleeting, and the braggart truly gains nothing of value, much less any sympathy. We are all intimately aware of this universal truth, yet human nature and an inherent lack of maturity in all of us still plot to persuade us towards experiencing this irrationality first-hand. (My knee injury was sooo much worse than your knee injury!)

In spite of the risk of alienating many readers, this author would humbly submit his interpretation of Anna’s comment, if only to help others to better understand their own misguided and redundant efforts to address Anna’s extremely complicated situation. As such, I present my own estimation of Anna’s reasons for her comment, as follows:

“Weeeelllllllppp, I’m bout to go pluck, stomp, flip it, and ride a doodoodinger!!!”

As that particular phrase is commonly used in modern speech, to the extent that its impact has become severely lessened, this author is reluctant to appear pedantic in his explanation, yet his conscience drives him to provide the clarity that most readers find comforting when absorbing any sort of information gleaned from the written word.

The specific phrase Anna reportedly promulgated happens to be one which the afore-mentioned actress has voluntarily uttered numerous times (along with most of the rest of the world at one time or another in the last week, month, year, etc.), as we are all aware.

I believe that she did so in order to express or actualize one of two things: 1) to clarify her feelings on the matter of the situation in its entirety, and 2) to strongly accentuate and emphasize the sexual overtones of the indicated and preceding utterance. Clearly, she accomplished exactly what she set out to do.
